VeChain, a leader in enterprise blockchain solutions, has announced significant updates to its VeBetterDAO ecosystem with the introduction of VePassport. This new feature aims to address sybil farming issues and enhance the platform’s governance mechanisms, according to VeChain Official.
VePassport Launch
Set to go live on October 18, VePassport will introduce minimum qualification criteria for users to be eligible for weekly governance voting rewards. This initiative is designed to filter out fake users and curb sybil farming, thereby reinstating the Quadratic funding, voting, and reward mechanisms. Users can qualify by acquiring a ‘Moon’ tier GM NFT or by performing specific actions within the VeBetter apps over a 12-week period.
GM NFT Upgrades
Another key development is the introduction of GM NFT upgrades, scheduled for November 8. This feature will allow X Nodes and Economic Nodes to claim higher tiers of GM NFTs, which are linked to additional weekly rewards. Non-Node holders can also upgrade their NFTs by utilizing accrued B3TR tokens.
Node Endorsements
VeChain is also introducing a new endorsement feature for X/Economic Node holders, expected to roll out by October 25. This will enable Node holders to act as validators and qualifiers for X2Earn Applications, facilitating a more collaborative platform environment. Applications require a minimum approval score of 100 points to go live, ensuring only credible apps are endorsed.
Community-Driven Governance
VeChain emphasizes its commitment to decentralization by empowering the community to have greater decision-making authority within VeBetterDAO. This aligns with VeChain’s broader vision of creating a sustainable ecosystem through blockchain technology.
